Avonlea Acres sits on a gentle hilltop in Sparta, North Carolina -- a small mountain town in Alleghany County, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge. From this vantage point, the ridgelines of the Appalachian Mountains unfold in every direction, shifting with the light and the seasons in ways that never quite look the same twice.
The setting is the kind that makes people pause when they arrive -- a wide sky, a long view, and the particular quiet that comes with being above the valley. The Barn
At 5,000 square feet, the barn is the heart of Avonlea Acres. It is a space with genuine character -- the kind that comes from honest materials, natural light, and the particular warmth of a well-built agricultural structure. We are developing it thoughtfully, with an eye toward versatility and a respect for what it already is.
Six individual barn stalls run along the interior, offering natural divisions that lend themselves to artisan displays, craft demonstrations, vendor setups, and other creative configurations. The open floor plan beyond them provides generous room for gatherings of many kinds.
The venue is still taking shape, and we welcome inquiries from hosts and organizers who want to be part of imagining what it becomes.
Planned Feature
The Stage
A dedicated performance stage is planned as part of the Avonlea Acres venue concept. The vision is a space where live music, spoken word, theatrical performances, and other live events can unfold with the kind of presence and intimacy that a barn setting naturally encourages.
